Founded by culinary enthusiast, Anasuya Shreedhar, who apart from being a self-taught cook with a keen interest to use food as a kaleidoscope to view the world around her, is also a copy-writer and academician. Her research unravels the relationship between Space and Gender against the canvas of India’s Industrial Kitchens with a sharp focus on the Act of Cooking.

About The Founder

Anasuya Shreedhar, founder of Cookastory and Ash & Loom (a clothing brand), Anasuya is an independent research scholar with a PhD in Women’s and Gender Studies from Ambedkar University, Delhi. Her thesis explored the gendered spaces inside the industrial kitchens of India through the lives of women chefs. Her focus is on food at the intersection of caste and gender. She is also a food writer with published pieces in online magazines and is currently working on a project pertaining to home chefs. She takes a keen interest in India’s rich handloom heritage which has paved the way for Ash & Loom, bringing the grandeur of six yards from artisans across the country.
